Hi everyone!! Many of you will

know that I turned 50 this year and decided that the bucket list needed to start and running a marathon is on there! On the 14th April I’m running the Manchester Marathon and I’m running it in memory of my dear Brother in Law Chris who we sadly lost in June 2021. I will be running it to also raise much needed funds for The Christie Charity who cared for Chris for many many years and were absolutely amazing with Chris and my dear sister Deb. The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Gifts and donations like mine will make a huge difference to the care and treatment that they can provide for families and patients. As a family we will be forever grateful for the level of care they gave to Chris and this is my way of paying back. Training has already started and I know over the next weeks will only get harder but this is nothing in comparison to what Chris endured for many years without ever moaning and the one thing he taught everyone was to be positive about everything!!! I know times are hard but please please donate as little or as much as you can! Every penny counts and I will be forever grateful! Thankyou everyone Nic x

Cancer affects everyone and statistically 1 in 2 of us will face it at some point in our lives.

My family and friends have been hit by it pretty hard over the past few years.

We lost my best friend Zac in 2022 after a long battle with leukaemia - no one should have to deal with that at 28.

My sister Steph was diagnosed with breast cancer and after treatment, managed to fight it off.

The Christie were heavily involved in both of their journeys and that's why I've chosen them as a charity.

Donating money to The Christie not only helps in some way to fight cancer but we get to do it on our doorstep in Manchester.

So...I'm running my first marathon and thought it would be a chance to raise some money!

Get your purses out and donate - it's going to a great cause and if that's not motivation enough I will hate every minute of it.

Many of you will know that I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in Feb 2022. After I was referred to the Christie hospital I Manchester the treatment I received was phenomenal. I underwent surgery to help remove the two tumours that I had. I am now in complete remission but remain under the Christie for the next 10 years.

On visits I made to this wonderful hospital I got to witness the amount of work that goes into helping those who are suffering with cancer. The staff that work here are amazing, hearts of gold.

I want to raise money for the Christie by cycling to Blackpool from Manchester!

We will be walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on 05.06.2023. The money raised will go directly to The Christie Charity in Manchester. This charity has been fundamental in helping to give care to our friend's daughter who has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia.

We are Jack and Chance, two best friends who have heavily felt the impact of Cancer on our loved ones. We will be completing 4 marathons in 3 days, starting in Manchester city centre on the 7th April 2023 and walking between there and Sheffield repeatedly to cover the distance of over 4 marathons (111 miles).

We are raising money for The Christie hospital, a charity very close to our hearts, who have helped our family members tremendously, both past and present. The outstanding work they do includes, cancer treatment, research and supporting patients and their families, going above and beyond for everyone affected.

Please donate anything you can to help this fantastic charity continue the excellent work it and its hard-working staff continue to do for all our loved ones!

Contrary to how the video implies, our intention to run the manchester marathon came out of a drive to do something positive for a charity very close to our hearts. (Although this does not discredit how much we originally underestimated the feat).

Will:

At the start of the Year my Dad decided to no longer continue with chemotherapy after undergoing treatment from the Christie since late 2019. After this, I wanted to do something positive and raise money for a charity that provided us with so much support throughout this time.

Jordan has always been very close with my family so after talking to him about how my Dad's illness was progressing he was instantly on board. After a fair few drinks and some questionable alternative suggestions, we came to the idea of running the Manchester marathon.

I wanted to rope Adam into this, as he has been an incredible support and holds the Christe very dear to his heart.

Adam :

After Will called me while I was working and only half aware of the conversation, he was able to get me to agree to run a marathon. After fully realising what I had agreed too, I couldn’t not go for it as I would be running for such a great cause as the Christie’s.

The Christie’s Hospice is dear to me, as back in 2016 they were so supportive during my mum’s time with cancer, with her eventually succumbing to her illness in 2018.

So I will be running the marathon in her memory and raising money for those who are going through what I did.

Jordan (A man of few words):

When will told me that his dad was had decided to stop his chemotherapy it got us talking about how to help everyone with any form of cancer. This eventually led to us deciding running a marathon wouldn't be too hard to do. Hopefully, we will raise some money for Christie's charity and help others.

On Wednesday 30th November 2022, myself and Harry will each be rowing 50,000m on a pair of concept 2 row ergs to raise money for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Withington, Manchester.

The Christie is one of the largest Cancer treatment centres in Europe and it has helped people very close to me during difficult times.

Following the success of last years tractor run, the decision has been made to organise another in remembrance of Harvey. After the run there will be a sandwich and a drink for those that wish to come. Key information below. The run will start in the same place. £20 per vehicle, 100% of all donations go to the Christie charity. If you wish to watch please stand at the double roundabout in Poynton. Many Thanks
