Starting A New Life
On June 20, 2023 my oldest son was diagnosed with Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis which is a non-contiguous rare eye disease that has caused him to undergo several surgeries and it was too much back and forth trips from Chattanooga to Nashville. So on AlsoMay 10, 2024 me and my boy's left Chattanooga to move to Nashville and by me being a single father of two boy's, no shelters would take us in. So people started helping us with hotel rooms but on May 29, 2024 I reached out to a place called Connecting Forward through Family and Children's Services and they started covering our room. And it was at time that I felt more stable with dealing with an organization so it gave me time to start taking care of business. I've been able to get my youngest child in daycare and my oldest in summer camp temporarily but the summer camp place where he's at and July 5th. So until I can find somewhere else for him to go until school starts back there's no way I can work without him being completely settled. In between all this time I was also able to fill an application out for an apartment complex on June 14th and on June 24th the day I moved into the Salvation Army I found out my background came back good. Now I just received more good news on Friday June 28th me and my boy's were approved for the place and our move in date is July 1, 2024. So I'm trying to raise more money so I can continue to pay for child care expenses, put money towards rent, utilities and provide for my boy's until I start earning a paycheck. I have some wonderful friends that has been doing their best to keep us going but they can only do so much. All the money will go towards very important needs and it'll be very appreciative to me and my precious boy's. Also since we've been in a stable place of living with no bouncing from room to room my son eye has been so much better and he has a more comfortable eye than he had before.
