Thursday 12th June, we received the phone call no one wants to receive.

Dad had a fall and suffered a catastrophic brain bleed. There was nothing more the doctors could do for him. Mum and I flew up to Darwin on Thursday to be by his side.

At 7:40pm on Friday, I lost my Dad.

I’m so broken. This is a grief that hurts more than I ever thought grief would. I hate that the system failed him.

I’ll miss him more than words. I love you so much Dad. Rest easy now.

Forever and always, your little girl.

All funds raised will help with Dads funeral costs, and help Mum move forward.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in helping our beloved Peter Jackson (my Dad) get back home from Darwin Hospital. Peter is a wonderful person who has always been there for his family. Unfortunately, he is currently facing a serious health challenge.

On Anzac Day this year Peter was admitted to the hospital due to a bleed on the brain. He underwent surgery, recovered well and was discharged. After the required 10 day wait to fly home after brain surgery however, the airline informed Mum that medical clearance forms were required.

Upon going back to the hospital to have the forms signed by the Dr, they required Dad to have a CT scan just to ensure everything was all clear. However, the CT scan showed a big problem - air pockets in the brain. This meant Dad could not fly at all until the air pockets cleared.

Dad was finally given the all clear to fly! The day before the flight home, Dad had another bleed, and was rushed back to Darwin hospital via ambulance, and underwent another surgery. After not waking for 2 days, we all braced for the worst. But, Dad proved us wrong! However, there has been damage done to the part of the brain that controls speech. Dad also has weakness in his right arm. It’s uncertain if the damage is irreversible or not. Time will tell.

Dad’s condition requires extensive medical treatment and care, and while the doctors in Darwin are doing everything they can, Dad longs to be surrounded by the familiar faces of his loved ones and the comforts of his home state during his recovery.

The costs associated with his medical care, travel, and recovery are significant, and that’s where we hope you can help. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

- Medical expenses and ongoing treatments for his condition
- Travel costs for Dad’s safe return home
- Support for his recovery and rehabilitation

Dad has always been a generous soul, often giving to those in need. Now, it's our turn to give back and show him the love and support he has so freely shared with others.

We truly appreciate any contribution, big or small. If you’re unable to donate at this time, sharing this page with your network would mean the world to us.

Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, let’s help Peter get back home where he belongs.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Chloe
