St Luke's Hospice Plymouth.

For those who don't know, my dad passed away on the 22nd of March 2022 after a 2-year long battle with cancer. This started in his oesophagus which later spread to his liver after initially being given the all-clear post-surgery. he spent the final few months of his life in the more than capable hand of the St Lukes team at Turnchaple Plymouth, where he was treated with amazing care, dignity, respect and humility. I truly believe that if he hadn't had this amazing care, he would not have met his Grandson Theodore, who was born on the 02nd of March 2022. The time that they got to spend together and the memories made during this short period will forever live with me which I will be forever grateful for.

To help St Luke's continue providing this amazing care to other families in need, I have decided to fundraise by completing a 50 - mile ultramarathon on the 11th of November which will skirt the periphery of Dartmoor. (for more info on the race, search for Dartmoor way granite 50). The race is a continuous non-stop event and will take somewhere in the region of 12-15hours. Training began post-Christmas where I will be following a strict programme set out by Ben Wadham of Pantheon gym in Plymouth. Ben has a huge wealth of knowledge and experience regarding training for big events/ challenges like this and has helped many people reach their goals/achievements. Every detail is considered within the training programme which has been adapted around my work/life schedule and also to help protect my knee from where I ruptured my ACL playing rugby back in 2021.

Any contributions to this amazing cause will help give other families in Plymouth and the surrounding area, the chance to receive the same level of amazing care for their loved ones at a time that can be so dark for many.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my story and an even bigger thank you for any contributions made throughout the journey whether it be general support or a donation to the cause.

Once again thank you all
