Zara’s Cycle for T1DCAT

T1DCAT (Type 1 Diabetes Children And Teenagers) was set up in 2018, by a group of parents of teenagers and children with Type 1 Diabetes within the Northern Ireland Southern Trust area, in order to offer support to families and raise awareness of the condition.

As a family we have seen first hand how the group (pending charity status) has such a positive impact for children and teens. When they meet for these fun activities with their peers it really helps them realise that they are not alone with their daily injections or insulin pump management.
Zara has made firm friends through the group; friends her own age who get it and understand the day to day issues. An important network to fall back on.
Zara and a friend are planning to cycle the Newry Canal towpath from just outside Newry to Portadown and back to Scarva (about 25 - 30 miles) and would love to use this opportunity to fundraise for the group.
*** Given the fantastic response Zara has committed to cycling 100 miles over the course of a month.
