Hi my name is Dorothy Murray and I am fundraising as I have been offered a place with African adventures to travel to Zanzibar for 11 days in June 2026 to volunteer. I will be helping the children of Zanzibar by teaching in the classroom and manual work helping with building renovations. I will be helping communities, sharing knowledge and becoming part of a global network, it’s a transformative experience that contributes to positive change little by little.

6/3/26 Over the last 12 months I have been doing lots of fund raising activities to help to get me to Zanzibar to participate in this amazing volunteer project where I can really help towards making a difference.

I have now raised around £2065 through various fundraising projects, I have done car boots sales, sold lots of clothes on Vinted, games consoles, golf watch etc.

Thank you to friends and family who have donated stuff for me sell, this has helped so much. I’m now down to my last £435.

Myself and my family will be climbing Snowden on March 7th to really try and give it a last push.

I have to admit I’m a little scared now it’s getting close but also super excited to have been given the opportunity to help in this way. I had my vaccinations this week 2nd March 26 that made me a little poorly with a sore arm but I’m fine now

I will keep you updated, hoping to raise as much as I can to get me to Zanzibar to help these families.
