Haiti w/ Sadhana Forest

Hi, I'm Nikala Asante .
As a woman who has overcome many challenges personally, it is very important to me to assist in creating opportunities locally and internationally for others to have a chance at life.
In my pursuit of creating equity opportunities, I traveled to Haiti twice in the past 12 months, after learning French and Beginner's Kreyol. Now, I will be traveling to Sadhana Forest (sadhanaforest.org) to build partnerships and learn about successful methods of creating food and water security to initiate a sustainable solutions brigade out of Houston in summer 2015. I will be taking my 10 year old son with me.
I traveled to Haiti first in August 2013 with United Students Against Sweatshops to interview garment workers and fight for universities in the States to bring in living wage clothing and cut contracts with sweatshops. We were successful. Then, in May 2014, I traveled with the University of Houston Honors College Medicine and Society Program to train Haitian interviewers to interview fellow survivors of the 2010 earthquake and archive their narratives. Also, we set up clinics in 3 tent cities and delivered important supplies, such as medicine, toothbrushes, and children's vitamins, to orphanages.
Although I work 2 part time jobs in Houston (while maintaining consistent community work and home educating my son with the assistance of a collective :)), all of my money currently goes towards cost of living. I don't believe that our income should limit our ability to do the work that God puts in our hearts and on our paths to do. I thank for your contribution of any amount towards this powerful opportunity pursuit mission, and appreciate your commitment to creating equity on a global level.
Love!
Nikala Asante
