Hi, my name is Mychaela McEvoy.

I am 17 years old.

I live in Banbridge.

I attend Our Lady’s Grammar School in Newry.

I have been given an incredible opportunity to travel to Zambia on 8th June 2025.

What does this trip involve?

I am involved with the 'Zambia Girl impact project'.

This is a female empowerment programme.

With a group from my school I will be supporting educational workshops; health awareness programs; working directly with local communities.

We will be supporting and helping young girls and womwn build a brighter future by advancing their knowledge, our aim is to ensure the young boys and men in the community see the value of healthy, empowered and educated women.

Our goal is to help girls achieve their potential and gain confidence in having a voice and knowing their rights in their own community and country.

We want to see young girls and women better-informed and educated.

To help close the huge gender equality gap that still exists in many African countries.
