A Day In The Life Of Zach
A beautiful green eyed boy;
Who flaps and jumps for joy.
The biggest smile on his face;
Seconds later he's all over the place!
Falling down to the ground here he goes;
Almost frozen and curling his toes.
His anxiety is crawling and creeping in;
His hands covering his head right down to his chin!
He squeezes his eye's oh so tight;
This can help to keep things from his sight.
He lashes out at his Mam and Dad;
His big brother feels oh so sad...
Some day mam things will get better;
We will be able to go outside whatever the weather.
I can see it now Mam we will have so much fun;
We wont need to go home when Zach starts to run!
Or when he screams, shouts, kicks and hits;
Mam don't forget his prompts or his big bag of bits.
You see autism affects not only our little man;
Also his siblings, his parents and all of our clan.
One day Mam we will get an assistance dog for Zach;
From then on his pal will always have his back.
He wont have to hold your hand anymore;
And then his buggy can stay folded on the floor.
You see a service dog for Zach will mean happiness all round;
For this little boy new beginnings will be found.
A service dog costs ten thousand to train;
But think about how much Zach and his family will gain.
His anxiety will lesson and he might start to sleep,
The worry about running away will lessen a heap.
So let our campaign of fundraising begin;
We cannot do it alone so if you can please chip in!
Your donation will go a really long way;
To bring Zach and his family closer to that day.
