I’m Taking On Tough Mudder to Support Band of Builders

Hi, I’m Zac Wilkinson, Assistant Director of Construction at Preston College, with nearly two decades in the construction industry.

On Saturday 26th July 2025, I’m taking on Tough Mudder Yorkshire — a 15km course with 20 extreme obstacles. It’s Tough Mudder’s most demanding challenge yet, and I’m taking it on for a cause that’s deeply connected to our industry: Band of Builders.

In our line of work, we’re no strangers to tough conditions — but sometimes, life throws challenges no one can prepare for. That’s where Band of Builders steps in.

They’re a charity that supports tradespeople and their families through life-altering circumstances — whether it’s through home adaptations after injury, urgent financial help, or simply showing up with tools and compassion when someone needs it most.

As someone who’s lived and breathed this industry — and now helps shape the next generation of trades at Preston College — I know how vital this kind of support is.
