Max, my Yorkie, was a victim of an attack by a larger dog. Max has internal injuries needing emergency surgery. The cost is roughly $7,000 if all goes well. It could cost more if they run into complications during surgery.

Max recently joined my family as I was returning from FL to NY. I have a Havanese named Peppi who Max has loved to play with over the last year since I got Peppi as a puppy.

The incident occurred while I was out of town for work. My sister was walking with the dogs on leashes around the block, like we do several times a day. When she came around the block, a larger dog on a lead broke the lead and came right for both dogs. My sister went to grab Max, who had frozen, and it was too late. The larger dog had already attacked him. Peppi ran right behind my sister as the larger dog came running toward them in a matter of seconds. The owner of the larger dog is working with us as she is just as upset as we are.

Max will have the surgery but we need to raise the funds. Any amount will help with the surgery cost, follow-up appointments, and care.

Anyone who owns a pet and loves them like children doesn't hesitate to save and provide the care they need. There was no question in my mind to do the surgery and save Max. He is the sweetest Yorkie. He and Peppi have become buddies, and Peppi is looking all over for his buddy.
