Save Iraqi People

As the world stands and watches, Iraqis from all walks of life, young men, old women, doctors, laborers, fathers and mothers from the north all the way to the south of Iraq have risen above sectarianism and separatism and have exhibited, in a tear-jerking and awe-inspiring display of unity and unwavering love to our motherland and country, what true Iraqi people are made of.

Having been fed up with a corrupt government that has put the people last and failed to provide the most basic necessities of life, the Iraqi people said no more and bravely marched to Al-Tahrir Square to achieve exactly that, Tahrir and liberation from an unjust and depraved government that uses the nation’s wealth to its advantage while Iraqis starve and suffer every day.

We are raising funds to support the heroes in Iraq who risk their lives in an act of defiance against a corrupt government that is using tear gas and violence against its own people and against peaceful protestors in an attempt to silence the brave Iraqi people and maintain the unbearable and tragic status quo.

The funds we raise will be sent to Baghdad to provide our courageous protestors with the means necessary to continue their heroic act of civil disobedience. The protestors are in desperate need of masks, blankets, food, gas, and medical supplies to continue the protest. To date and through our informal fund-raising efforts, we have sent hundreds of masks to protect the protestors from tear gas. One box containing 10 masks costs 4,500 Dinar (approximately $4.95 CAD). We have also set up a medical clinic in the hear of Al-Tahrir Square to tend and treat the wounded.

We will share pictures of where and how the funds we raise will be used and we will be pleased to answer any of your questions.

We trust that like us, you are also desperate and hungry to see a new Iraq with a bright future where children can laugh and people can call it home. We greatly appreciate your donation, no matter how big or small. Every dollar counts.

بينما يقف العالم موقف المتفرج، ينتفض العراقيون بمختلف مشاربهم وخلفياتهم الثقافية شيباً وشباباً أطباء وعمال ومهندسين عوائل بأكملها من الشمال الى الجنوب ليسمون فوق كل المسميات الطائفية والعرقية ويعبرون عن وحدتهم بعيون تدمع وقلوب يملأها حب الوطن يثبتون للعالم أجمع ان العراقيين مجبولون بحبهم لوطنهم. لقد ضاق العراقيون ذرعاً بالحكومة الفاسدة التي لم تضع المواطنين ضمن اولوياتها وفشلت في تقديم ابسط مقومات الحياة للمواطنين، وقالوا لا وساروا حشوداً الى ساحة التحرير ليقولوا كلمتهم الفصل في التحرر من الحكومة الجائرة التي استغلت موارد الدولة لمصلحتها بينما يذوق العراقيين الامرين كل يوم.
نحن نقوم بجمع الأموال لدعم الأبطال في العراق الذين يخاطرون بأرواحهم ويتحدون حكومة فاسدة تستخدم الغاز المسيل للدموع والعنف ضد شعبها وضد المتظاهرين السلميين العزل في محاولة لإسكات صوت الشعب العراقي الشجاع الآبقاء على الوضع المأساوي الراهن الذي لا يطاق على ما هو عليه.
سيتم إرسال جميع الأموال التي نقوم بجمعها إلى بغداد لتزويد المتظاهرين الشجعان بالوسائل اللازمة لمواصلة عملهم البطولي المتمثل في العصيان المدني. المحتجون في حاجة ماسة للأقنعة والبطانيات والمواد الغذائية والغاز والإمدادات الطبية لمواصلة الاحتجاج. سوف نشارك صورًا عن مكان وكيفية استخدام الأموال التي نجمعها وسنكون سعداء بالإجابة على أسئلتكم واستفساراتكم. نحن على ثقة تامة بأنكم مثلنا، أنتم أيضًا يائسون ومتعطشون لرؤية عراق جديد بمستقبل مشرق يكبر فيه أطفالنا بسلام ويمكن للناس أن يطلقوا عليه اسم الوطن. نحن نقدر ونثمن تبرعاتكم، مهما كانت كبيرة أو صغيرة لأنها ستساهم في تزويد المحتجين بحاجياتهم.
