Save Our Family Home

Hi, my name is Marie I am 65. My sister Eileen and I find ourselves having to face the real possibility of loosing the only home we have ever known. We were born here, our parents saw out their days here and we were hoping to do the same. There is one small glimmer of hope, that's where you wonderful people come in, we really need your help.

Our father, Charlie, shook hands on a deal to lease the home, a small holding nestled in the hills just above Gourock Scotland, almost 70 years ago. Here, with the help of his wife (the love of his life) he raised 8 daughters. It may not have had electric or central heating but it was home. Charlie worked tirelessly to provide for the family and over the years improvements were made out of his pocket and today it is very much our home. Sadly both our parents have passed and we find ourselves without a lease.

The estate have been very kind and have offered to let us purchase the property and have granted us some time to gather the funds. We have pulled our retirements and are selling everything not bolted to the floor. Unfortunately, even with help from family, we are still short. We are turning to the kindness of strangers in the hopes you can make up the difference. Every little helps and your contribution, no matter how small, will mean so much to us.

It is never easy to ask for help but ask we must to save the only home we have ever known. Thank you for time.

We hope to raise enough to make up the difference and purchase the home. In the event we are unable to raise enough then the funds will go towards helping us relocate.
