10K Swim for Dementia

Our nan was diagnosed with Mixed Dementia (Alzheimers and Vascular) in January 2020 she still lived an amazing life even with her struggles. She remained fiercely independent and was determined to still do everything she wanted no matter how difficult. We as a family absolutely adored her but at times being her family could be a challenge when she had her outbursts or become agitated and scared. Unfortunately last year nan had a fall, broke her hip and after a big operation sadly passed away. Myself and my 13 year old daughter Lacey wanted to celebrate her life and raise some money for a charity that is close to our hearts and in doing so hopefully help others and their families that have had a diagnosis of dementia affect them. We plan to swim 10K each (400 lengths) over November of our local pool in memory of our beautiful nanny, Mary Tompkins any donation big or small would be gratefully received and much appreciated.
