Support Black Trans Sex Worker's Survival fund.
Hi everyone.
This is a fundraiser for Kay's survival. Kay is a Black trans woman, who due to the precarious natures of state, migration and continual marginilization, is living in a situation that is not stable. Kay's main goal is to fund money to not have to engage in a potentially dangerous work environment, & to give herself enough money to be able to keep stable housing without having to engage with clients that do not have her safety at heart.
The main outcome of this money will be to pay for rent & food costs for Kay - to give time and space to create stability. & Travel away from her current place if possible.
So often, in order to raise funds, people must first out themselves, their trauma and life story to be deserving of support. Yet often, this eliminates those most on the margins from receiving support - as often Outness requires a level of access or safety many don't have. If we want to really look at redistribution, and what it means to support Black trans lives, we must also let go of our ideas of how funding and support often requires a 'face' and trauma to legitimise. Our redistribution must come with trust.
I am using my platform, access, and outness to Fundraise for Kay, as she cannot do this herself. Once the goal is met (speaking into existence), I will transfer it all to Kay. If proof required, I am happy to show communications and transfers with anyone.
With love,
and a belief in deep solidarity,
Travis Alabanza.
