Homeless Outreach

Want to join us in making a difference? We're raising money to benefit Shalom Outreach Washington Inc, working to help solve the problem of homelessness in Spokane County. Homelessness can happen to anyone, regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. Children fleeing foster homes, victims of domestic violence, the veterans, individuals with mental health issues, disabilities, people with substance use disorder, the immigrants, and minorities are all vulnerable and at risk of homelessness. Shalom Outreach Washington (SOW) is focusing on a new but overlooked approach in the fighting against this public health concern. To empower those facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, SOW employs research techniques for skills-identification and acquisition for immediate economic and employment opportunities for self-sufficiency with dignity. Access to housing is the main tool to ameliorate the homeless issues facing our environment. The research and publications will inform the population and policymakers on the needs of individuals living without homes in Spokane County and end homelessness with shelters, permanent housing, healthcare, social services, and advocacy.
