Achieve the American Dream!

Thiago and Aurea are very hard working, dedicated legal immigrants and their dream is to become legal US Citizens. They are following all of the proper guidelines to accomplish this goal for themselves and their two children. We believe our country would be better off with the Moreira family here as permanent US Citizens. We admire and appreciate the respect they have shown our country by doing this the right way. Here’s their story told by Aurea -

In Brazil, I’ve been a psychologist since 2014. I worked in clinical psychology and in the city’s mental health system, among other roles I held before that. Thiago was a youth educator, graffiti artist, and muralist who used art as a tool for social education, working with minors who didn’t have access to quality education or were in conflict with the law. The goal was to use art to steer young people away from crime.

We decided to come to the United States to give our daughter, who was 12 at the time, a better quality of life. Shortly after arriving, we consulted with an immigration lawyer to understand the legal paths available to us. However, the legal process was expensive, and we couldn’t afford the costs at that time.

I went through two surgeries in the U.S. during our first years here due to complications from a procedure I had in Brazil to remove breast nodules. These surgeries impacted our financial plans, as did every hurricane we experienced, since we hadn’t been able to build any savings yet. Each storm left us without work for a while due to the damages and disruptions they caused.

Despite these challenges, we never stopped fulfilling our responsibilities. We opened our own licensed and insured business and have paid both our personal and business taxes every year. We’ve always tried to do everything the right way because we see that as our duty.

Our dream is to move forward with a legal process and stay regularized, so we can continue living our lives in peace—working, paying taxes, and contributing honestly to society while fulfilling our responsibilities.
