Hello friends and family,
As you know Jon and Brittany welcomed their third child Michael Harvey to the world on June 28th. He spent some time in the NICU at St. mary’s For a bit anwent home. Only things got worse and they are now at OKC Children’s Hospital.
Jon and Brittany are staying in the hospital while family takes turns with Georgia and Nariah who are missing their parents and new brother.
I know now how many people love and support this family and are sending prayers. The cost of being in the hospital is so much bigger than the emotional toll it is taking. Jon is not working, so not getting paid, all meals for mom and dad are costing money. Parking adds up and traveling from Enid to OKC. And all that before medical bills which we all know get crazy.
I wanted to create a way to help for those of Bear and far. Any amount would be appreciated!
Michael was diagnosed with Meconium Aspiration Syndrome. It began before he was born by Michael breathing in his amniotic fluid that had been mixed with his meconium (The first black tarry stool). The doctors are hopeful this won't get worse and there will be no long term effects. However, there is no treatment that will quicken the recovery time. The only thing that can be done is to continue to provide him support while he works it out on his own. They said it could be any where from a few days to a few weeks. The plan now is to try weaning him off oxygen and watching to see how he handles it. Once he is able to breathe normally without oxygen they will release him.
