Hi Friends!
I have prayerfully made the decision to join Hume Lake Christian Camps on their adventure of bringing Christ-centered youth camps to the islands of Hawaii this summer! I am so excited by this opportunity and to share my heart for camp ministry, youth, and revival in the state of Hawaii with you all over the course of my fundraising in the coming weeks.
Hume has asked each person who will be working camp this summer to raise money to offset travel costs of getting our team and equipment there, in addition to hopefully lowering camper fees in an effort to get as many students as possible to join us at camp. Therefore, money raised throughout this campaign will be going back to Hume, and will aid in ensuring we are able to put on the strongest camp program possible.
As of now, I am planning to partner with Hume's ministry at their camps on Kauai and Maui at the beginning of July. This is the FIRST time Hume is bringing a camp to Maui, an island that is very near and dear to me. That being said, this particular camp experience is one I am feeling particularly passionate about.
After two summers working at Hume and helping with various retreats, I am very confident that Hume will offer an incredible program to the islands of Hawaii, and transform lives through the power of the Gospel. Hume makes it a point partner with The Church, meaning that what occurs at camp is not merely an experience, rather a life transformation that will continue in students' lives as they get plugged in to a youth group.
If you feel led or inclined to donate to help me raise money for this ministry, I would appreciate it more than you know. If you have any questions regarding my decision, Hume's ministry, or how the heck God made me fall in love with the local church in Hawaii, please do not hesitate to ask.
