My story:
When we were young we were constantly asked one question: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" For me, it was simple, because I only ever had one dream - to share the love I have for God to others. This desire of mine was first recognized in 4th grade when my teacher's friend arrived to class with an empty box and she asked our class to fill it with simple toys such as bouncy balls or hair ties. Two months later my teacher's friend returned with a video from her mission trip to Africa (I cannot remember the exact country). In this video there were children, the same age as myself, smiling from ear to ear, while holding the toys our class had donated. This story has stuck with me ever since. Who I wanted to be when I grew up was the person who showed love and kindness to all people and children, to be someone who wasnt afraid to share my faith and to be someone who devoted my life to being what I was created to do. After months of prayer, denial and then more prayer I KNOW that I am being called away from my comfortable home in Minnesota to fulfill God's purpose for my life and my lifelong dream.
What this means:
I am happy to announce that I will be going on a 6 month mission trip through YWAM (youth with a mission) starting April 23rd. I will spend the first half of my mission trip in Townsville, Australia where I will be getting trained and going through life-changing experiences in my walk with the Lord. The second half will take place on a medical ship traveling throughout Papua New Guinea (PNG) where I will assist doctors, dentists and other medical professionals by not only sharing the gospel, but also giving healthcare to those who may not have had access to healthier life styles otherwise. Please see my attached video to see specific details about the medical ship I will be traveling on throughout PNG. This video is also what motivated me to pick this YWAM location, the statistics are astonishing!
Who you'll be helping:
5 women die every day during child birth in PNG, someone dies from Tuberculosis every 2 hours, 1 in 13 children die before the age of 5, there is only ONE dentist per 100,000 people and many have low to no vision at all. The doctors, nurses and dentists I will be assisting will help show the people of PNG that their life matters and that through healthcare and God's grace WE CAN overcome disease, death and short life spans.
Your donation will bring more than just healthcare to PNG - you will also be a part of a community that strives to show value in every person's life! You WILL make a huge inpact in my life and everyone's life I help along the way by simply praying for me, my team and those we help and/or by proving the funds I need to get to PNG.
I can't do this without you!!!!
The support I've been given thus far is incredible, and I am blessed by those of you who have encouraged me. For those of you who are looking to continue to support me I have two ideas in mind: 1) your prayers and 2) financial support.
Where will your donations go?
1. Associaton Fee
2. Visa
3. Plane Ticket
4. Training (tuition, room and board, food, etc)
5. Priceless memories
Keep in mind that gofundme DOES take a portion of your donation, if you would rather send me a check or cash to my home address please consider reaching out to me personally.
Thanks so much for reading my story, for your prayers and financial support. If you would like to follow my journey please let me know and I will add you to my FB page.
