Bridging the divide

Hello just a quick introduction, Alistair here.

I am hoping to raise some funds for the people I work with, I know how important it is to have at least one person believe in you and want to spend time talking too you so with that in mind...

The aim of this funding will be to raise enough funds to take our residents out to normal places that have in a sense become alien to our residents. The things we probably take no notice of like a visit to Leeds or even Bradford are real mile stones for some of our most vulnerable to visit, even sitting in a cafe having a simple cup of tea in a local village such as Hebden or Haworth means so much to our people it is amazing to see, what never fails to amaze me is how they light up with interest and life once we get talking, the hope this simple act has on our people is insurmountable. What begins as a simple day out in a local village usually for me leaves me stunned at the knowledge and intelligence of some of our most vulnerable. Not only this it also begins the process of healing and reintegration into the community, to see this and be a part of the change that occurs is dear to my heart.

I invite you to be a part of that change in any small way.

I am hoping to run day trips throughout the summer for up to 7 people per week.
