Hi, my name is Meg Graser and I am fundraising for my parents. In March, my dad was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of thyroid cancer, called Anaplastic Thyroid Carcenoma. It is a 500 case a year cancer and he has been fighting hard ever since we found out. He was in the UC Davis hospital for almost two months with my mom and brother both visiting every day. He started radiation and chemo, which he finished after a couple of months. He came home in the middle of his treatments and has been going to multiple doctor's appointments a week. His condition has not gotten much better since the radiation and chemo and he started immunotherapy a couple of weeks ago. Through this, my brother took a semester off of school to help caretake, as dad needs 24/7 surveillance and care. Mom has been working from home during this, 40+ hours a week as well as cooking, cleaning and working with the insurance companies every day to try and get bills covered. Now, my brother is going back to school this semester and mom has to go into work a couple of times a week. They live in Sacramento and I work full time in Reno, so I am often unable to make it home except on weekends to help. This has been a very difficult time on all of us, and money has been tighter than it usually is due to all of the medical bills and loss of a second income. Mom is working so hard at her job and helping Dad out and Dad is doing his best to keep fighting!! He is recently back in the hospital again, and it would be incredibly helpful if you are able to donate to help make this difficult situation a little bit easier. Anything helps at this time.
