Yutzy Barn Fire Rebuild

Donation protected

Yesterday afternoon our sister’s family’s 40x100 ft barn burned down due to what one can only guess was old electrical wiring.

Robert, Ruth, and their four children are as hardworking as they come! Both work while running a full fledge farm and are amazing parents to their children.

As an observer to the daily life of the Yutzy’s, that barn was the heartbeat of their family routine. Every one of them had a daily job in there – taking care of their cattle, goats, horses, or something else. It was a place to store their yearly supply of hay and feed they had for the many animals, a place to house the family tractors, their implements, fencing supplies, farm equipment, 4H and FFA show supplies, tools, and many years’ worth of horse saddles and tack. Two of their sons 4H and FFA steers were in the barn at the time of the fire, thankfully, their ropes burned, and they were able to get free but not without injury so they will most likely not be able to be shown again. Their youngest daughter, Rhonda, spent as much time in there as in the house during her summer days enjoying the barn cats and animals. It was a beautiful old yellow beacon in the middle of hundreds of acres that stored the essentials for the survival of their many herds of cattle, horses, goats, and chickens.

The rest of the family and I have many beautiful memories there, but for the Yutzy’s it’s not just the memories they lost, but a very large essential tool for their yearly income.

Unfortunately, insurance will only cover some of the belongings, and the Yutzy’s have a huge task ahead of them trying to come up with the funds to rebuild such a large, very needed structure.

If you know the Yutzy’s, you know how incredibly humble and hardworking they are. They would literally give the shirt off their back for a neighbor. They are always willing and truly know the value and importance of lending a hand to their neighbor. I myself have been a recipient of this genuine kindness many times.

So, I humbly ask, can we repay this kindness to them? Can we come together as neighbors and do a good old fashion neighborhood barn build in a newer, modern way with a Go Fund Me??
