Just yesterday morning, on December 27, 2025—a few short days after Christmas—our family's home was completely destroyed by a sudden electrical fire. In mere minutes, the place where I've spent most of my life growing up, filled with irreplaceable memories of holidays, family gatherings, and everyday joys, was gone. We lost everything: furniture, clothes, photos, keepsakes, and even the little things that made it feel like home.
My family has called this tight-knit neighborhood home for nearly 30 years. My mother, Jeanette Meekins, has dedicated the last 5 years to serving our community by fostering thousands of stray cats, giving them love and second chances when they needed it most. Now, we're the ones in need of a second chance.
Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but we're left with nothing and my sister, father, and mother are currently staying in a small RV on our property.
We're humbly asking for your support to get back on our feet and rebuild a safe home. Our goal is at least $30,000 to cover:
Down payment and basic costs for a tiny home.
Labor
Essential appliances and furniture
Immediate needs like clothing and household items
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in helping us start over. If you can't give, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support during this heartbreaking time. God bless you!
-Ken Meekins, Son of Jeanette Meekins
