(Message below from my partner)
My name is Yevgeniya (aka Zhenya!) and my parents, Yuliia and Mykhailo, are currently living in Zaporizhzhia, a city in the east of Ukraine that’s less than an hour's drive to the frontline. The city has been under constant shelling since the onset of the full scale invasion 4 years ago, and my parents have been so far unable to leave.
On Friday 20th February their car got hit by a drone missile, the blast both destroying the car and also shattering the windows of their flat while they were inside. Thankfully, they were unharmed.
The window repair will be covered either by local council or by a local charity, but their car insurance does not cover war damage, and they cannot currently replace it themselves. Being without a car both makes day-to-day life difficult, but also more dangerous, as a car would be needed to flee in the event of a russian advance on the city.
I want to be able to send them some money so they can replace the car or use it towards other costs incurred by the attack, such as repairs to their flat or helping them potentially relocate to a safer city.
Any money not used will be passed on to a humanitarian foundation Come Back Alive - savelife.in.ua/en/
As go fund me does not allow transfers directly to Ukraine, any donations will be initially transferred out by my partner, and then passed on to my parents.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message!
I really appreciate your help.
Слава Україні! (Glory to Ukraine!)
