Hi, I’m Heather.
On Friday 7th November, I’ll be swapping my bed for a sleeping bag and taking part in the Old Trafford Stadium Sleep Out to raise vital funds for the Manchester United Foundation. I’ll be spending the night in the stands of Old Trafford — the Theatre of Dreams — to stand in solidarity with young people across Greater Manchester who are facing homelessness and hardship this winter.
This cause is close to my heart, and here’s why it matters:
Around 154 people were recorded sleeping rough across Greater Manchester on a single night in Autumn 2024 — and many more remain hidden from official counts.
Over 5,600 households are currently living in temporary accommodation across the region — a 71% increase in just four years.
Within those households are 7,679 children, a heartbreaking 79% rise in the number of children without a stable home.
These numbers reflect a growing crisis, and every donation — big or small — helps provide practical support, guidance, and hope for our most vulnerable young people.
I hope to shine a light on what too many endure every night.
The money raised will be split between two amazing charities: Centrepoint, which supports young people facing homelessness, and the Manchester United Foundation, which works with vulnerable youth across Greater Manchester.
Let’s come together and make a difference.
Thank you so much for being part of this ❤️
