Help Rebuild Aunt Icy’s Home After Hurricane Melissa

My name is Isola Williams from Hallandale Beach, Florida. I am reaching out because my dear Aunt Icy, who lives in Grasspond, Dundee in Westmoreland, lost her entire home during the passage of Hurricane Melissa. The storm destroyed everything. Every room, every wall, and every sense of comfort she once had is now gone. She is safe, and we have already started the cleanup process, but rebuilding from this loss is a major challenge.

Aunt Icy is more than family. She is a mother figure, a friend, a mentor, and the person who brings laughter wherever she goes. She is a little hard of hearing, so you sometimes have to raise your voice, but her bold jokes still get everyone laughing. She is warm, loving, and known for greeting every family member with a hug and a bright smile.

That house carried decades of memories. It was the house I grew up in and the home where my mother lived before she passed. When she died, her sister, Aunt Icy, continued to carry her spirit and her love for family. The home held many fond memories that shaped our lives, and we would love to make it a home for Aunt Icy once more.

We have begun clearing the debris; however, the next step requires materials that the family cannot afford on our own. I am asking for your help to purchase cement, nails, lumber, zinc, and electrical fixtures so we can begin rebuilding a safe and stable home for her. Any contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference.

If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser with others. Your support will help us restore comfort and security for a woman who has spent her life caring for everyone around her.

With gratitude,
Isola
