A Christmas to remember
Donation protected
We are Dan and Annie and we have been friends for a good 20 years.
We became friends through Lesley, who introduced us all those years ago and those that know us, will know that we lost Les to cancer only a few months ago.
Cancer affects everyone to some degree but when a terminal diagnosis lands on your head, or the head of someone you love deeply, we can say from first hand experience, it’s a very tough ride. The shittest rollercoaster.
So what are we doing and who are we doing it for ?
Well, on Sunday 1st December, come rain, shine, hail or snow will be walking 20km in fancy dress in an attempt to raise money for our dear friends Maddy & Vic and their kids, Archie and Mabel. They are a beautiful family who are currently on this very tough ride and we believe they need to be shown the love.
4 years ago, Vic was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and although he initially responded well, over time, the drugs stopped working.
This summer, things took a turn for the worse and Vic now finds himself on the last available chemotherapy for as long as he can take it.
As Vic is unable to work, they only have one income stream, so their financial situation is really tough.
Maddy now has to work two jobs just to cover the bills and their son Archie has assumed responsibility as Vic’s main carer.
So we are organising this walk to raise as much money as we can for this wonderful family and to try and cut them a little break when they need it the most.
But why now?
Simply because the time for these guys to create memories is now.. a terminal cancer diagnosis doesn’t give them the luxury of time so let’s give them a Christmas to remember..
Where will my money go ?
Well, what Mads and Vic choose to do with the money we raise is entirely up to them.
Maybe they will employ a carer, maybe Maddy will be able to take some time off work, maybe we will help to pay for a super special Christmas Day, or even a family spa break, whatever they decide to do, is entirely up to them. The money will go where it is needed most.
We do fully realise that times are tough for many in the current economic climate so we are simply asking you to give anything you can afford.
Whatever we raise will be helpful for them, but If you know Mads and Vic personally and fancy getting involved to help raise even more money, you are more than welcome to join us, please reach out if you do..
Thank you so much for your support
