Pay It Forward For Tammy
Donation protected
- Hi, my name is Denise Holliday. I have a dear, sweet sister-in-law, Tammy Holliday Smith, who has been diagnosed with an aggressive bladder cancer. Tammy is disabled and lives with her daughter. Stephanie Smith-Stout, who helps turn out many nurses into the medical field through her dedication to teaching at WVUP. She is also a dedicated wife, mother, and daughter. Anybody who has faced cancer themselves or with their family knows it takes an incredible toll not only physically and emotionally, but also financially. It's mostly the things you don't realize unless you have gone through it; paying for parking, gas, take out food, a place to stay during overnight visits, having to take off work when you can't really afford it is just the tip of the iceberg. Then there's the family you leave behind as you remain loyal to those you would do anything for to provide the care they need. Most people want to do what they can to help those fighting a battle they did not ask for. In January of 2024 it will be ten years since I became cancerfree. I have lived it, and I survived. It actually turned out to be one of the most blessed experiences of my life. It was when I was weak that those who were strong prayed for me and supported me in many ways. Of course, one way was monetarily. I will always be grateful to those who reached out whether they knew me or not. I will always be indebted. I humbly ask if you have ever been blessed when you were weak by someone else's kindness, to pay it forward and help this precious family in need.
