Support Michael & His Family's Fight for Recovery

Hi everyone,

We are raising funds for Michael Iwanchuk and his family during an unimaginably difficult time.

While visiting his daughter Zoe in Vermont, Michael was tragically involved in a severe accident on Thursday, December 18th. While exploring her neighborhood as a pedestrian, Michael was struck by a car. The impact immediately put him into a coma. He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life.

Michael has sustained extensive injuries, including broken ribs, broken facial bones, a broken jaw, neck damage, a collapsed lung and—most critically— a skull fracture and severe damage to his brain. At this time, his prognosis remains unclear. The coming days are absolutely essential as doctors continue to monitor him and do everything possible to support his recovery.

Michael’s family is based in Oregon, and they had to urgently travel across the country to be by his side. The sudden need for flights, lodging, food, and time away from work has created an overwhelming financial burden during an already heartbreaking moment. Michael is currently unemployed, and with mounting medical bills and the unknown road to recovery ahead—especially so far from home—his family needs support now more than ever.

Michael is an incredible father to three (Nic, Zoe and Yuri), a devoted partner, a loving son, brother, and a dear friend to so many. He has always had a huge zest for life—he loves travel, photography, cooking, skiing, being active and above all, spending time with his family. Anyone who knows Michael knows his warmth, laughter, generosity, and love for the people around him.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
