Hello friends and family,

I am asking for donations to support hiring a private attorney for a young person in need. As you all already know, the need is great, and we cannot help each individual in this way. However, this young person has been impacted by mass incarceration, trauma, and racism intergenerationally. He has navigated the brutality of our police, probation and prison systems his entire young life. His mother passed when he was only six years old, and his father was in prison most of his life. He is a brilliant artist and a kind friend. As someone that has witnessed what happens in court and the massive limitations and harmful disruptions that occur to people, their families, and their communities, I believe this effort is significant enough to make this appeal. The amount requested will match what he can contribute. I am very hopeful that it will make a tremendous difference in the outcome.
