Greetings!

My name is Christopher Robinson and I am the owner of the Youth and Adult Kung-Fu Studio, also known as the Martial Way Kung-Fu Training Center. The organization was founded in 1999 with the sole mission of promoting the important values and virtues martial arts can provide to all those that practice.

Over the years, our services have expanded beyond martial arts to include an academic based after school program where working parents can rest assured their children are in a safe, comfortable environment upon dismissal from school as well as an economical fun-filled summer camp where children can be engaged in a host of enriching activities and attend some of the best trips to elite amusement and water parks.

In 2019, our school celebrated a milestone 20 year anniversary; a benchmark many businesses, let alone martial arts schools, accomplish. Unfortunately, our joy was short lived as just one year later the world experienced a life altering pandemic responsible for the demise of many businesses and changing our perception of how we live our lives. With the love and support of so many people, our school was able to survive. We attempted everything from virtual instruction to rethinking how programs are structured. However, the lockdown killed 95% of our student base leaving us to rebuild almost from scratch. Despite the endless hard work, faith, and determination, four years later, we still feel the ripple effect of that devastating shutdown.

In 2024, we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary year and we are once again asking for support of our alumni, family, friends, and supporters throughout the years in efforts of keeping our doors open. Though our school has rebounded in some ways, the repercussions from limited revenue the past few years, along with inflated prices for uniforms, equipment, bus charters, and rent has taken its toll.

Our overall goal is to raise $60,000.

$40,000 will be used for the following back rent and assist with the repayment of our Covid-19 loans. The remaining $20,000 will be used to sponsor children so they have the opportunity attend our programs. Priority will be given to families in financial need and multiple children households. Martial Arts, Summer Camp, and the After School Program will all be included in sponsorships.

As a resident in my community for over 50 years, it has been a privilege to have a business in the very place I grew up in as a child. My goal has always been to offer affordable, safe, and quality services to the community as well as surrounding neighborhoods. I am truly humbled by the hundreds upon hundreds of souls that have graced our doors taking advantage of our programs and I am in true awe of how impactful Martial Way has been in the lives of so many. This fundraiser will not only help us keep our doors ope and relieve the financial strain we are incurring, but will also help keep our programs financially accessible.
