Crowdfunding YourMum to the UN Climate Conference

De luchtvaart is een vuile olifant in de kamer. Grote impact, maar niet aangepakt. Hoogste tijd om dit (fossiele) olie-fantje te wassen!
Hier een goed verhaal voor in de geschiedenisboeken:
Samen met 36 jonge getalenteerde changemakers zeilt Je Moeder (je leest het goed: ZEILEN) naar de UN KlimaatConferentie in Chili. Jep. In 7 weken. Nog beter dan een droom die uitkomt; Het is een campagne die –je raad het al- de ongeremde & problematische groeiende luchtvaart op de agenda van de COP25 zet. Aan boord steken we na de zeeziekte onze knappe koppen bij elkaar om de beweging van toekomstbestendig-reizen in gang te zetten, oplossingen en alternatieven te onderzoeken, het voorbeeld te zijn, en acties voor te bereiden. Dat in samenwerking met verschillende partners, bouwend aan een internationaal netwerk (Stay Grounded ).
Op beleidsniveau, politiek niveau, technologisch niveau, bedrijfsmatig niveau, maar vooral op mentaal niveau zal er een knop om moeten. Om extra druk uit te oefenen gaan we naar COP25: een wereldse koersbepalende conferentie waar al 25 jaar pogingen gedaan worden om met klimaatverandering om te gaan. Hier komen wereldleiders, NGO’s, jongerenorganisaties, dissidenten, belangengroepen, maar ook gelijkgestemde bezorgde actieve mensen samen om de onderhandelingen te beïnvloeden en zich te laten horen.
Inmiddels groeit de milieu-beweging enorm! Het is tijd voor ongekende drastische actie door een groeiende gevarieërde beweging die de status quo niet meer accepteert.
Het is tijd voor een meer autonome, decentrale, horizontale, ecocentrische, liefdevolle, mens-&boomknuffelende samenleving waarin zorg centraal staat in plaats van kapitaal. Hierbij zullen we onszelf, maar ook de spelregels moeten gaan veranderen. Daarom gaan wij naar de COP.
Waarom ik?
Je kent me misschien wel van de tshirts en actiegroep Je Moeder. Eerder heb ik mij ook ingezet als onafhankelijke activiste/protestkunstenaar rondom de COP (COP21,COP23 en COP24 ). Mijn expertise ligt bij creatieve actie; theater, beeldende kunst, ceremonie en humor om wakker te maken, ogen te openen, op hoofdknopjes te drukken, en de toekomst te beïnvloeden. Schoonheid en glimlach creëeren is een krachtig kadootje dat je niet kunt weigeren. Kunst in activisme gebruiken voegt een extra laag en warme gloed toe aan de boodschap en eisen van ons team en onze beweging.

Lieve Moeders,
Ik sta tot je dienst. Omdat ik immens veel van je hou. Omdat ik, samen met jou, deel uitmaak van dit grote levende geheel. Wij zijn de natuur die zichzelf verdedigt, gedreven en gedragen door de wind, golven en de sterren. Door ontzagwekkende elementaire natuurkrachten. Door de wil om te leven.Met dit vuur in onze ogen, schreeuwen we het van de daken, komt het vanuit onze tenen, terwijl onze tranen vloeien van verdriet en geluk, op het ritme van ons hart, wij zijn diegenen op wie we hebben gewacht. Ik geloof dat we dit kunnen. Omdat het kan.

Aviation is a dirty (fossil) elephant in the room. Big impact, but not tackled. It’s time to clear the air.
What a great way to write history:
Together with 36 young talented change makers YourMum will sail (you read correctly: SAIL) to the UN Climate Conference in Chile. Yes. In 7 weeks. Even better than a dream coming true; It's a campaign that - you guessed it - will put the unrestrained & problematic growing aviation on the agenda of the COP. On board (once the seasickness is over) we put our handsome heads together to start a movement of future-proof travel, finding solutions and alternatives, being the example, and prepare actions. This in collaboration with various partners, we build an international network (Stay Grounded ).
At policy level, political level, technological level, business level, but especially at the mental level, a button needs to be switched. To put extra pressure, we go to the UN COP: a worldly course-setting conference where 25 years of attempts have been made to deal with climate change. Here our worldleaders, NGO's, youth-organisations, dissidents, lobby groups, but also like-minded concerned active people get together to speak up and influence the negotiations. At the moment the environmental movement is growing rapidly! It's about time for drastic & unprecedented action by a growing diverse movement that's not accepting the status-quo anymore. It's time to grow to more autonomous, decentralized, horizontal, eco-centric, loving, human- and tree-hugging societies where care is central rather than capital. We will have to change ourselves, but also the rules of the game. This is why we go to the COP.
Why me?
You might know me from the Tshirts and Actiongroup "Je Moeder ". Earlier I have also worked as an independent activist / protest artist around the COP (COP21, COP23 and COP24 ). My expertise lies in the use of creative action; theater, arts, ceremony and humor to wake up, open eyes, press the main buttons, and influence the future. Creating beauty and smile is a powerful gift that you cannot refuse. Using art in activism adds an extra layer and warm glow to the message and demands of our team and our movement. This is my Ode:

Dear Mum,
I am at your service. Because I love you immensely. Because, together with you, I am part of this great living whole. We are nature defending itself, fuelled and carried by the wind, waves and stars. By awesome elemental natural forces. By the will to live. With this fire in our eyes, we shout it from the rooftops, coming from our toes, whilst our tears flow from sadness and happiness, to the rhythm of our heart, we are the ones we have been waiting for. I believe we can do this. Because it's possible.
