A Guardian of Truth, Fighting to Save His Family

Hi,

My name is Marwan Ispitah. For 45 years, I called Gaza my home. Today, I write to you from the ashes of it.

I am a journalist. My life's work has been to bear witness, to tell the stories of my people with honesty and courage. But now, that very duty has marked my family for death. While the world watches, I document our reality, knowing that in the eyes of the IDF, my camera is a weapon and my press badge is no shield. Every time I leave to report, I kiss my children goodbye, fearing it will be the last time.

My family is my entire world. My wife is in unimaginable conditions, suffering to take care of our last born child, Hamed. My twins, Nabil and Haneen, who once ran through our home with laughter, now huddle in silence. My Sara and little Zaina, whose eyes no longer sparkle with childhood wonder, but are clouded with a fear no child should ever know.

We have been displaced six times. The home where we built our lives is now dust and memory. Today, we live in a flimsy tent on the beach in Mawasy Khan Younes, exposed to the hot weather and and relentless rain. This is no place for a newborn. This is no place for any human.

My heart shatters when I cannot provide the most basic things for them. Shortages of clean water and food are a daily torment. My new son, Hamed, needs diapers and clean clothes. My wife needs nutrition and safety to recover. My children need to feel just one day without the sound of bombs.

I have spent my career telling the truth. The painful truth now is that my best is no longer enough. We are exhausted, injured, and living on a knife's edge, waiting for God's mercy and the kindness of humanity.

I am not just asking for help. I am begging for a lifeline. Your support is our only chance to buy the basics for survival, to find a moment of safety, and ultimately, to escape this nightmare with our lives intact. Please, do not let my family become just another statistic. Help us write a different ending—one of safety, survival, and hope.

Please, share our story and donate what you can. Your generosity can save a life.

Thank you for your compassion.
