Kickstart Anne Arundel YoungLives for Teen Moms

Greetings friends and family in Christ!
Being a teen mother is often a lonely, isolating, and overwhelming experience. Recently, a group of us from EP Annapolis Church, Anne Arundel County YoungLife (see here), and Rockbridge Academy have begun seeking to serve and minister to these moms. In particular, we’re excited to be starting a new YoungLives ministry for Anne Arundel County!
YoungLives is a branch of YoungLife specifically geared towards teen moms and their babies. Through mentoring and discipleship, YoungLives invites teen moms to join a community where they will be loved unconditionally -- by the community of believers, and by Jesus Christ. This fundraiser seeks to kickstart our ministry and provide for our practical needs:
First, we are seeking funds to put together care packages for local teen moms and their babies. Giving out these baskets will be the first step in forging relationships with these young women.
As it becomes safe to do so, we're hoping to host YoungLives club meetings for teen moms and their babies, which will eventually include free dinner, childcare, mentoring, activities, parenting classes, and lots of fun and fellowship. Providing food and supplies for these events is our second financial need.
Also, we are prayerfully considering taking a handful of teen moms and their babies to YoungLives camp this summer in West Virginia. While their kids are being watched, they can take time to renew themselves, experience adventure, and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Financial assistance to provide scholarships for girls to go to YoungLives camp will be needed.
