Carrollton TX Young Life Deck Rebuild

Carrollton Young Life and the Boy Scouts of America have been two very big influences in my life. Young Life has helped me grow closer in my relationship with God. Scouting has helped me grow accustomed to many outdoor activities and general skills as well as helping me to prepare for life along the way.

Another important lesson that both of these programs have taught me is the importance of service. With this lesson in mind, I am fundraising in order to rebuild the old deck that is frequently used at the Carrollton Young Life complex.

When I look at this deck, I don't see nails, wood, and cinder blocks. I see a meeting place, where people hang out and chat. I see a place where some friends might gather to play ping-pong or other games. When I look at this deck, I don't just see a deck. I see  the core beliefs of Young Life itself: to introduce young people to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith.

This is an opportunity to serve Young Life as well as an opportunity to complete my Eagle Project. We will be replacing the deck in March 2020, so I would like to have all funds raised by January 31, 2020 so I can begin purchasing the needed materials and supplies.

Any additional funds raised above the project goal will be used to install a composite material deck (rather than treated lumber), shade cover, and send kids to camp.

Completing this project will allow Young Life to focus its resources on our youth rather than on facilities upkeep. I am very grateful to anyone who donates any amount of money, large or small. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for donating.
