Young Immigrants: Voices of Resilience
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Adonay Milla, and I’m the author of “My Death Across the Border” a powerful book that tells the true story of young immigrants journeying to the United States in search of better opportunities and a chance to build a brighter future.
The road to a new life is never easy. It’s filled with danger, loss, and moments when giving up feels easier than moving forward. My own journey was filled with obstacles, and there were many times I thought I wouldn’t make it. At my lowest point, I even tried to end my own life an experience I talk about in the book with honesty and vulnerability.
But I’m still here. I held on and today, I am stronger. I’m proud to say I’m achieving my goals, and I’ve found purpose in sharing my story.
I know many people will benefit from this book. I want young people and everyone to know that they are not alone. Your pain is real. Your story matters.
Through this book, my goal is to raise awareness, spark empathy, and change how we view the immigrant experience. I want our voices to be heard and our stories to be recognized for what they truly are: brave, painful, and full of hope.
A Little About Me:
In addition to being a writer, I’m also:
• A full-time college student studying to become a Spanish teacher
• A part-time worker
• A proud parent of an amazing child
• A foster parent to two incredible children who I love with all my heart.
Balancing all of this isn’t easy, but I believe in this message with all my heart. That’s why I’m doing everything I can to make sure this story reaches the people who need it most.
