Young Family’s Savings Lost to Rental Fraud

My son, Jacob and his girlfriend, Kayla, their 17 month old son, Weston and another baby on the way currently live with me. They were looking forward to finding a place of their own to start their lives and be on their own! They found what they thought was a deal on Facebook marketplace and it was just a scam and a nightmare! The house evidently was not really for rent it was for sale and had the keys in a little lock thing but available to let them look at the home. He was on the phone with them as they looked at the house and then made them tell him their information like social security number and a copy of my son’s license and then told them they were approved. He emailed them the lease with the approval stamp and his signature and told them print it out sign and then send over money and they could go get the keys and move in! They sent him $1500, $500, $400, and then $150. He kept adding fees for this and that. They wanted the house so bad they kept sending what he was asking for. They are devastated that they were so naive to believe this man and are out of alot of money that they really needed for their little family. If you are able to help them they would be forever grateful for it and no donation is too small because it all adds up! If you aren’t in a position to where you can help can you please just keep them in your prayers! They made a police report and have tried to see if they can get their money back without any success! I have a picture of his license supposedly but it is probably really someone he scammed in the past! Please help this family get some of their hard earned money back!
