Hi, my name is David Meena and my wife Kathy and I have welcomed a young family into our home to help them start a new life in Canada after escaping the War in Ukraine started by Russia.

Alek Stoliarets, his wife Maryna, daughters Daryna 7yrs and Maria 5yrs and son Mathew 2yrs arrived at midnight June 7. Today they now have work permits, social insurance

numbers and a bank account in place. They arrived with only four suitcases and a couple

small back packs in their possession if you can imagine! Alek and Maryna both speak

conversational English. Maryna also speaks Russian, German, Spanish and some

elementary Chinese.

Alek has work experience in Computer advertising and sales and promotions and Maryna has experience in office management and personnel.

The funds raised here will assist with food, clothes, diapers and home supplies and

hopefully enough for some rental housing. If anyone would further have some leads for

We cannot imagine the fear and the anguish of leaving your home, your assets, mothers

and fathers, sisters and brothers that this family has experienced. Now having arrived in

Canada, is am sure some fear, anticipation and excitement for what the future will bring.
