Young and talented dancing couple form Ukraine

We are Lisa and Matvey. We are ballroom dancers from Kharkiv, Ukraine. We have been dancing together for 6 years and we have a lot of achievements and titles in DanceSport. After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, both of our families moved to the United States, where we continue to do what we love.

Before we were able to arrive to the U.S., we spent several months in Europe: Poland, Germany, England. Thanks to the hospitality of many kind people along the way we were able to continue to practice and even compete. We were able to represent our country in the biggest and the most prestigious dancesport tournament in the world - Junior Blackpool Dance Festival. We were thrilled to have won our age category and to have helped gain victory for Ukraine in the Team Match Competition.

Upon arrival to the U. S., we started practicing while learning the new language, attending a new school and getting used to the new way of life.

We have participated in and won several competitions in the United States in 2022 and in February 2023 we won the official American DanceSport Championship and will represent the USA at the World Championship this November in the Netherlands.

We ask for your help to be able to prepare and participate in this competition as well as to be able to continue our pursuit of future achievements. DanceSport, like any other professional sport, is very expensive, and the current situation does not allow our parents to cover the expenses needed for us to continue dancing.
