Hi, my name is Ella, and next year I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Kenya with African Adventures to support young school children in need.
This trip means so much to me because it gives me the chance to make a real difference in a community where resources for education are limited. I’ll be spending my time helping at a partnered school — assisting in classrooms, running activities, and supporting long-term development projects that help children learn in a safe, happy environment.
What I’ll Be Doing
During my time in Kenya, I’ll be:
• Helping teachers in the classroom
• Supporting children with their learning
• Assisting with school improvements (like building, painting, or creating new learning spaces)
• Bringing essential supplies directly to the pupils who need them most
African Adventures partners with schools that rely heavily on volunteers and donations, and I’m excited to give my time and energy to help these children receive the education they deserve.
Why I Need Your Support
As part of the programme, I am required to fundraise the cost of the trip myself. This isn’t just about covering expenses — it’s designed to show commitment, responsibility, and dedication to the project.
I want to be honest: I really don’t like asking people for money, especially when I know how tough things are for so many of us right now. So please don’t feel pressured. Any donation is hugely appreciated, but if you’re not able to contribute financially, there are other ways you can help.
Alternative Donations
If you’d prefer, I’m also collecting items to take directly to the children and families in Kenya. These include:
• Period products
• Toiletries
• School supplies (pens, pencils, notepads)
• Hygiene items
• Small educational resources
Anything you can spare will make a real difference to the people I’ll be working with.
Making a Difference Together
I’ll be sharing updates before, during, and after my trip so you can see exactly how your support — whether financial or practical — is helping.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Even sharing this page means the world to me.
