Help us build the yoga community of our dreams

This is something we have been working on for a couple of years now and just as we were getting close to realising it the COVID crisis began and our schools have since lost 50% of their revenue, which put the brakes on the dream. So I’m here to share the dream with you and ask for your help and involvement in making the dream become a reality.

The Ashram That Isn't

The goal of The Ashram That Isn't is to create a sustainable farming community that focuses on self reflection, inquiry, personal growth and development, as well as getting off the grid as much as possible. It follows no religious dogma and is open to humans, and animals, of all walks of life for one day or one year. Though, every guest must add value to the greater good of others and to the community as a whole.

The system in which we live has failed many of us. As a society we lack a sense of community, human connection, and true support for personal development. Some of us can see that and some of us feel in our depths that something is wrong with the outside world, yet we can’t quite put our finger on it. The Ashram That Isn't is a place where this will be our central point of focus as a community: to sustain and support our selves while reconnecting to our symbiosis with nature that we so deeply crave, consciously or not.

We will be both a yoga school and a farm. We will work the land, tend to the gardens and animals too, all while maintaining a daily yoga practice. The ashram will always be open to guests, short or long term, as well as running regular retreats and trainings allowing many possibilities for anyone wanting to stay for a peaceful farm and retreat experience.

The vision

Traditionally speaking ashrams are spiritual communities that support one another along the path of self realisation. We strive to be an inclusive and open minded community of seekers that live harmoniously with nature, and as simply as possible, to reduce the distractions of the mind to make our personal yoga practice more fruitful.

Personally, I want a peaceful place in the countryside to be able to work, study, go into isolation, and practice and I want you to feel welcome to do the same.

Does this sound like a dream to you?

We are currently a team of five and are open to finding other partners and family members to take a large, or small. roll in our community. If you are looking to change your life, do something big, or just invest in something promising, feel free to reach out to us. The main photo is the view from the farm we are currently in negotiations to purchase and its located in the north of Italy. The place has a large dining room, yoga room and nine hotel rooms all facing that view.

Would you like to get involved?

Your support would mean that we can finally make the dream a reality, acquire the building, and open the yoga farm up for people like you. Please consider making a donation or, even better, becoming a part of our extended family.
