You can help those that "Are Somebody" get off the street!

8 years ago, after my retirement, I made an easy decision on how I can help those that are living on our streets by creating awareness based on the decades I have done photography. The people that have made the wrong choices or experienced bad breaks need to be seen and hear their story heard. My first experience was helping and documenting many of those living on the streets of Maui. I then joined a very active and successful new advocacy group HHROC forming in the OC to first help those that are stuck on our streets and make sure we are doing the right things to make homeless lives better each day. My days in the OC were a real learning experience and I was so grateful for what I learned from this dedicated group. At the same time, I was on the streets in Long Beach and LA with my camera and a smile for all those in need of what I could offer. I have spent most of my days these past 8 years walking the streets and providing them some breathing room, a feeling that there is hope and a direction to move forward that might help them. These past years have been a blessing and I feel the need to do more. I created a short documentary movie in 2021 called "I Am Somebody" that gives a deep look into the problems that we have in Long Beach and suggestions from those that are forced to live on our streets. My goal is to use the funds to provide more direct help to those living on our streets in SoCal. Also, to create a new art book featuring homelessness as I have experienced it. I want this to be the ultimate book on where we are in our society.
