My name is Matt Barry, and I’m an addict.

A year ago, March 27th, 2024, I made the decision to commit to a journey of sobriety. After a 30-day stay in an inpatient treatment center, I moved into The Next Step Sober Living in Kerrville, TX. The Next Step provides the necessary foundation and support needed for men in early recovery. I know I wouldn’t be in the place I am today if it weren’t for The Next Step.

With that being said, to celebrate my 1-year sobriety birthday, I would like to raise money to give back to the organization that helped get me to this point. The money raised will provide scholarships to men needing the additional support needed in early recovery. These funds will also help The Next Step host events through the C.H.I.L.L foundation. These events include laser tag, movie viewings, intramural sports, and more. The purpose of the C.H.I.L.L foundation is to show people in early recovery that you can have fun doing things without the influence of drugs and alcohol.
