In August, myself and my brother along with a group of our friends will be taking on the Three Yorkshire Peaks Challenge to raise money for Kidney Cancer UK in honour of our grandad.

Our grandad was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2000. Following the removal of one of his kidneys, he was thankfully given the all-clear and went on to achieve something incredible by founding Kidney Cancer UK, helping to raise awareness and support for thousands of people affected by the disease.

In 2020, he received a second diagnosis and was given only weeks to live. Thanks to the outstanding care, treatment and support he received, we were blessed with another five years together—years that we will cherish forever.

We want to continue honouring our grandad’s legacy by raising money for the charity he founded. Every donation will help support those affected by kidney cancer, fund vital awareness campaigns, and contribute towards improving outcomes for future patients and their families.

Our grandad was our biggest supporter and always encouraged us to give our very best in everything we did. By taking on this challenge, we hope to make him proud while supporting the incredible charity that was one of his greatest achievements.
