In Memory of Nancy Doraiswami

My mother, Nancy Doraiswami, had an extraordinary capacity for kindness and generosity. Anyone who knew her understood how deeply she cared about helping people in need.

Nancy had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone she met. She made people feel seen, valued, and loved, and her warmth reached far beyond her immediate family. Her love knew no bounds, and she gave it freely to her children, family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her compassion, strength, and dedication shaped the lives of those around her and instilled in us the values of service, generosity, dignity, perseverance, and opportunity. Those values inspired me to establish this foundation and continue the work she believed in.

In 2024, I had the privilege of traveling with my mother to Rwanda, where she met firsthand the communities and children who had become such an important part of my life. Her time there deepened her connection to Rwanda and strengthened her desire to make a difference.

Our current initiatives in Rwanda include:

● Completing a kitchen and bathroom already under construction in Nyarwashama at an Early Childhood Development Center

● Providing school uniforms and completing a classroom and playground at Trinity Academy in Rwinkwavu

● Creating the Nancy Doraiswami Scholarship Fund to help bright and deserving students attend university.

● Health insurance assistance for disadvantaged families, seniors, and people with disabilities.

These projects reflect the values Nancy lived by and instilled in her children: compassion, generosity, dignity, opportunity, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others.
