Help me to help my mum

Donation protected
Hi there!

If you have received this link it is because you must be a close friend and know I wouldn't do this unless I absolutely had to. And at this difficult time I have used all available resources, including loans, credit cards and savings. Let me tell you what has happened.

Those who know me well, know that my mum means the entire world to me, a few weeks ago my mum fell ill with a gallbladder infection with stones. It was supposed to be a quick and easy surgery in a local clinic (in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. Country of her tempoy post from work which is foreign to me and her). This surgery happened on Sunday 20th of October. On that day we had been told it was "successful" that night my mum started to have high fever and pain, as the night carried on she became incredibly ill and her vital signs dropped causing a pre heart attack. She was rushed in an ambulance to a bigger hospital in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. She arrived with extremely low vital signs and she was sent straight to the intensive care unit where they saved her life after 4 days of intensive treatment. She arrived with a (sepsis) / septic shock that caused her renal failure. And slowly more infections continued to appear in her abdominal cavity going down to her Leg. Also called "compartment syndrome or cellulitis" due to all the infection liquid she had inside her body. Later on we discovered the first clinic had left a needle inside her body what caused the infection along with bad practice. She had to have a faciotomy and other several surgeries in order to safe her life. She has had 6 surgeries so far. And she will need to stay in hospital for 1 or 2 months from now as she has several open wounds that doctors are unable to sticht up due to her infection. She is slowly getting better but she will need rehabilitation therapy etc. it will be a long process and long recovery.

Some of you know I rushed to Ecuador as soon as I knew she was being rushed to Quito. I spent two weeks with her in the hospital literally living with her inside her hospital room and watching this process for two weeks with Good and bad days.

I have returned to the UK on the 6th of November in order to arrange a few things as due to the circumstances I am the only one able to stay with her and support her through this and arrange her further treatment, rehabilitation and hopefully return to Colombia where things will become more financially manageable. I have taken an unpaid leave of 3 months to go back and look after my mum during her recovery and rehabilitation process.

Due to her being off sick she is not getting paid fully either so, I have decided to do this GoFundMe in order to help my family and afford my time off work and my ticket back to Quito, where I will be with her.

Thank you all for the support given and we shall catch up in 3 months!

Also, Many thanks to my employer Alter Agency/ TCL for the enormous support and compasion I have received before and now allowing me to attend this family emergency.

As you can imagine at this difficult time is a bit hard for me to ask for help, so I would rather not to post this link, hence I have decided to send it directly to you. Please feel free to pass it around to people who might know me, but I would be grateful if this in not shared on social media. Again, thank you ever so much for your help.

Kind regards
