Let’s help our brother in his time of need

Officer David Walker was recently suspended by the department for 60 days following an arbitrator's ruling. Officer Walker has been with the department since 2012 and has been a pillar for many to lean on. He has had countless incidents, yet his record remained unblemished. Whether he was responding to our 13s as an ESU member, recovering contraband after visit searches, or searching cells and finding weapons on SST, Dave has always been there.
He is the first one to share some knowledge with newer officers, learn from senior officers, and carry the load on a rough day. He handles his job professionally and makes the building safer for all those inside - period. Clearly, not everyone respects that and not everyone appreciates that, but everyone should acknowledge that.
Dave has two young girls and a wife that depend on him to support their family. It is apparent that not everyone cares about this, so now its on us to step up and show that we are the ones who care.
Officer Walker has, and will always be there for us, but now it's our time to be here for him. In these times of need, if we don’t take care of each other, no one will.
