The Y.Mak Path Project is designed to support and raise awareness to local NGO programs in Cambodia that are off the beaten path.
Our goal is to:
1. Help create opportunities and hope for the children of Cambodia through education.
2. Keep children off the streets and away from child labor.
3. Empower local communities to participate and support one another in an effort to break the cycle of poverty and construct sustainable development
Since 2010, YMak Path Project has been working closely with Volunteer Development Children’s Association (VDCA) and Toun Community Center (TCC).
The VDCA is a free English school for the local community. The school is run and operated by Mr. Togh and his team of local teachers. Many of the students are not college bound, but they are looking to increase their economic opportunities by learning basic English. TCC is not a traditional community center. This community centre acts as a day care for poverty-stricken families who struggle to provide basic care and food for their children. Toun’s Center provides pick-ups and drop-offs from home, school, and the center, along with lunch and dinner for 40 plus children on a daily basis. Recently, Y.MakPathProject has been working with several organisations to help both VDCA and TCC develop sustainable projects that could generate income for their centers. Projects such as starting a vegetable and fruit farm, mushroom house, charity shop and tuk tuk rentals. Helping the centers become more self sufficient can also inspire all members of the community to think about change and hope for the future.
In the mean time, they still need our help with the daily running, maintenance and operation costs. Please support us in our efforts to help poverty stricken communities in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Again, all donations will go towards TCC & VDCA. Any amount of donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support!
