Hi my name is Kim and I am raising funds to help my son Joel and his little family.

My son is one of the hardest working people I know! And an amazing father.

Joel and his partner Vanessa have a beautiful little girl named Amelia who is 2 1/2 and she is daddy's little girl.

They have also in the past few months moved into their new home they had built.

Joel had a terrible accident on the 25/11/2025 while on his way to work. He suffered multiple fractures in his face and a bleed on the brain. They also had to cut a ligament near Joel's eye to release pressure from his eye.

Joel was taken the Royal Melbourne Hospital and was in an induced coma. He was then in the trauma ward and has since been moved to an Acquired brain injury unit in a Melbourne rehabilitation centre.

Joel has come a long way considering we thought the absolute worst! But we now realise that he could be there for some time.

He has no short term memory and sometimes doesn't know who I am as well as other family members which is heartbreaking. He doesn't know how old he is and it changes daily usually. he doesn't even remember what he likes to eat,

read or drink.

Joel will need speech therapy and physio amongst other things later in recovery.

for now it's just rest.

No one knows how long the recovery will take or when/if Joel will be able to return to his usual job.

There are so many unknowns!

A TAC claim has not been approved yet and we are struggling to find the next avenue for an income will be from.

Money raised will go towards taking care of the mortgage, car repayments, body corp fees and bills mostly, while Joel is recovering. It will also help Vanessa to look after her and Amelia's needs too

We are not sure if legal fees might be needed also.

I want to try to create less stress for Joel and Vanessa through this difficult time and help save what they worked so hard for.

I know it's a difficult time of year financially for everyone but any help would be greatly appreciated!
